Patsy Banion


Patsy (Fast) Banion, age 80, passed peacefully after a brief illness Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Ohio State University Hospital. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Weldon and Josephine Fast.

Pasty married her high school sweetheart Robert Banion on December 20, 1946. She attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Sedalia and was a member of the Eastern Star. Pasty was known for her knitting; she knitted hats for the newborn babies at the Madison County Hospital. She also wrote for the Madison Press and the South Charleston Centennial.

She is preceded in death by her son Timothy E. Banion and an infant brother Jimmy.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Banion of South Solon, their children; Ed (Lynn) Banion, and Rachel Adams all of London, grandchildren; Tracy (Jeff) Mathewson, Brian (Elise) Banion all of London, Kelly (Chris) Legg of Nevarre, FL., Cole Sanford of Fishers, IN., Danny, Crystal and Tim Banion all of Springfield, several great-grandchildren, and family friend Becky Simmermon.

Friends may call the INGLING WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, South Charleston Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 4 to 8pm; where service will be held 11:00am Wednesday with Rev. Gordon Ell officiating. Burial will follow in the South Solon Cemetery.
