Preplanning

Since the early 70’s funeral homes have been offering prearrangements to families. Pre planning your funeral provides you with several benefits. Some of them are:

  1. It gives you the benefit of stating your wishes for the type of funeral service you may want.
  2. Provides you with the opportunity to provide your own biographical information that other family members may not know.
  3. By pre paying for your services you lock in today’s cost for the funeral service. We guarantee that when you pre pay for your prearrangements that you will not pay any additional cost for our services or merchandise. HOWEVER you prearrangement does not guarantee cost of cash advance items. Cash advance items are items outside of the funeral homes cost that we handle for you on your behalf. What we charge you is exactly what you would be charged if you were handling them on your own. Examples of cash advance items are the cost for certified copies of the death certificate, obituary notices, burial permit, opening and closing of a cemetery plot, clergy fee, funeral escort etc.
  4. Prearranging your funeral also relieves an emotional burden on your family. They may not know what you would want for a funeral and by paying for the service in advance it relieves a financial burden on them.
  5. Most of all it can give you a peace of mind knowing you have taken care of your final wishes.

The following graph represents how inflation will effect the cost of a funeral over a 15 year period.

Advanced Planning Information

We plan for every aspect of life. Having a family, vacations, weddings, retirement-all are planned. We prepare for what might happen such as fires, accidents and floods. But, because most of us do not like to think about death - we avoid making important funeral decisions in advance.

"A funeral reaffirms the value of a life lived. While there is grief, there is also joy."

All of the ceremony, burial, or cremation arrangements can be made at one time in one of our locations or in the comfort of your own home. You can even begin the process on-line.

Why should you preplan?

Life is more complicated now than ever! Family members live in different parts of the country, dealing with government agencies can be frustrating, and inflation is felt by every household. Planning ahead prevents emotional overspending and protects your family's interests. Four reasons to plan ahead:

  • Your Family - Making decisions today with the help of those close to you lets you make logical, well thought out plans which your family will appreciate.
  • Lower Costs - Waiting to make arrangements will cost your family more money. Payment in full must be made at the time of death when you can least afford to deplete your assets. Everyone can afford to make pre-need arrangements. It is a matter of choosing a payment plan that is right for you.
  • Securing benefits - Millions of dollars in governmental death benefits go unclaimed each year. It is important for you to be aware of how to protect your potential benefits from Social Security, Veterans' Administration, or Medicaid. We can answer your questions and assist you in filing for these benefits.
  • Peace of Mind - Arranging today, before the death, is handling a family matter. Arranging at the time of death is dealing with a family crisis. Planning ahead…you have true peace of mind knowing you have taken care of everything.
