Donna Rachel (Finney) Hanna


Donna Rachel (Finney) Hanna, age 85, passed away Friday August 10, 2007 at the Greenwood Manor in Xenia, OH.

She was born on August 24, 1921 in Cedarville, OH the daughter of Elkana E. and Donna B. (Prose) Finney.

She was reared and educated in Cedarville and was a graduate of Cedarville High School. She was retired from General Motors Corporation where she worked as an accounts payable clerk in Dayton, OH.

She was a member of the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and Choir member for over 50 years. She was also active as a Deacon, Elder and served as a Clerk of Session. She was also a 50 year plus member of the Cedarville Chapter & Aldora Chapter Order of the Eastern Star where she served three terms as Worthy Matron and many years as Treasurer. She was also active with the Cedarville Senior Citizens Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J Harold Hanna on July 21, 1979 and by her parents and two sisters; Helen Troutman and Frances Slifer; and by four brothers; Malcom, John, Joseph and Howard Finney.

She is survived by one sister, Nancy Sparrow of Lititz, PA; two sisters in law: Mary Finney of Kenton, OH and Kathleen Finney of Orrville, OH.; one stepdaughter and son in law: Carol Moore and her husband, Eddie Moore of Yellow Springs, OH; two step sons and daughters in law: James Hanna and his wife Sue (Bell) Hanna of Willmington, OH and John Hanna and his wife Becky (Krieger) of Cedarville, OH. Seven Grandchildren: Scott Moore and his wife Heather of Xenia, OH, Amy Parker and her husband Jim of Beavercreek, OH, Jeff Moore of Yellow Springs, OH, Christy Hanna of Columbus, OH, Katie Hanna and her husband Ryan of Cleveland, OH, Jed Hanna of Cedarville, OH, and Ellie Hanna of Atlanta, GA. Four Great Grandchildren Cole Moore, Allyson Moore, Kennedy Young and Chay Parker. 11 Nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for all the kindness given to Rachel by the staff of Greenwood Manor and Hospice of Dayton. The family will receive friends at Cedarville United Presbyterian Church from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Tuesday August 14. The Order of the Eastern Star will provide Eastern Star rituals with the funeral services at 12:30 P.M. with Rev. Drew Elling, officiating. Interment to follow at North Cemetery under the direction of INGLING & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville, OH
