Richard D. Hodge


Richard D. Hodge, age 88, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the St. Johns Nursing Home.

He was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio January 22, 1919 to the late John and Mary (McElroy) Hodge. Richard was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He also enrolled with the Civilian Conservation Corps serving in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Dick was a member of; the VFW Post 7, Pearl Harbor survivors in Kettering, the Pomano Grange Clark County, State Grange and past master of the Pitchin Grange.

Dick is preceded in death by his loving wife Geneva M. Hodge, brothers; Paul M, William F., and Marion F.(Jay)Hodge, sisters; Williametta Hopkins, Arwilda Powers, and Rebekah Litchfield.

He is survived by his children; Linda Hodge, Richard Hodge, and Kathy Case, grandchildren Richard L. Case Jr., Mark R. Case, great-grandchildren Sarah and Zachary Case, step-great-grandchild Seth Toops, sister; Rachel Jordan, ex-granddaughter-in-law Dona Case.

Family to receive friends in the INGLING WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME South Charleston from 1 to 2pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2007; where service will be held 2pm Tuesday. Rev. William Blain will officiate. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
